- 130 years ago, the scientific exploration of HMOs began.
- At the end of the 19th century, a carbohydrate fraction specific to human milk was isolated. In parallel, a growth-promoting factor for Bifidobacterium was identified in human milk and referred to as the “bifidus factor.”
- In 1954, human milk carbohydrate fraction and Bifidobacterium growth-promoting factor identified as HMO.
- In 2000, 200+ HMOs isolated and characterized from human milk.
- In 2012, the first HMO was produced with fermentation.
- To date, HMOs have been approved or marketed in more than 160 countries and regions worldwide, including Europe, the United States, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Latin America.
Singapore is one of the early countries in the world to adopt a regulatory license for HMOs.
In 2016, HereMOM was established in Singapore to explore and apply the life secrets of HMOs.
In 2023, HereMOM successfully developed its 6HMOs Shield Essence based on HMO formulation.
